March 21, 2022

BLOOMFIELD TWP., MI – Today, the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights (MRCC) endorsed Congressman Andy Levin in his reelection campaign in Michigan’s new 11th District.

"The Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights and the 14,000 Michigan workers we represent are proud to endorse our labor champion in Congress, Andy Levin," said MRCC Executive Secretary-Treasurer Tom Lutz. "In and out of Congress, Andy has worked to strengthen apprenticeships, collective bargaining rights, workplace safety, excellent health care coverage, and a fair wage for a hard day's work. Few elected leaders fight as hard as Andy for our values, and we will fight just as hard to send him back to Congress."

“I cannot overstate the importance of this endorsement to our campaign,” said Congressman Andy Levin. “The priorities of the MRCC have never been more critical after decades of workers’ voice and power in our society being chipped away, as we work to rebuild Michigan’s economy and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. I am proud to be the working people’s organizer in Congress.”

To date, Congressman Levin has received prominent endorsements from national and local labor unions including Service Employees International Union (SEIU); Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA); Communication Workers of America (CWA) national and District 4; National Nurses United (NNU); UNITE HERE national and Local 24; and United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 951.
