Congressman Mark Pocan, Local Clergy and Democracy Advocates Condemn Republican Super PAC Spending in MI-11 Primary

ROYAL OAK, MI – With early voting underway and the national spotlight intensifying on the race in MI-11 and internal polling from both campaigns indicating a very tight race, Congressman Mark Pocan, Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Emeritus, will travel to Michigan for a press conference on the influx of outside spending from Republican megadonors corrupting Democratic primaries across the country and here in Michigan.

To date, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and their dark money Super PAC United Democracy Project have spent over $3 million to defeat Congressman Andy Levin, Congressional Progressive Caucus Deputy Whip. Republican billionaires are funding these groups which support Trump insurrectionists while targeting progressive candidates in Democratic primaries. Today, Haaretz reports that WhatsApp founder Jan Koum donated a record-high $2 million to AIPAC's Super PAC after previously donating nearly $7 million to right-wing charities.

Congressman Andy Levin has taken a No Corporate PAC pledge and is a leading voice on voting rights, workers’ rights and human rights in Congress.
