End Citizens United, a grassroots-funded Political Action Committee dedicated to reforming the campaign finance system, endorsed Andy Levin for Michigan’s 9th Congressional District.
“The flood of big money and corporate cash in elections is giving outsized influence to special interests. Andy Levin will work to reform the system so that everyone has a voice in government. Our grassroots members are ready to roll up their sleeves and help him win in November,” said ECU President Tiffany Muller.
Levin has been at the forefront of progressive causes for decades, both inside and outside of government. From investigating human rights abuses in Haiti, to organizing groundbreaking recruitment campaigns for AFL-CIO, to founding a statewide market for clean energy projects, Levin has been a strong advocate for average citizens building power to create change.
“I support a constitutional amendment to reverse Citizens United because our democracy is under attack from hidden corporate money, among many other things,” Levin said. “I also support full disclosure of the source of all money donated to candidates or used to influence elections, and I support public financing of campaigns. It’s time to get big money out of politics and restore the faith in our political process.”
