Andy Levin Earns Endorsements From All Democratic State Representatives in the 9th Congressional District

All eight State Representatives in Michigan’s 9th Congressional District have announced their support for Andy Levin. 

 

Representing more than 600,000 residents, the following State Representatives have officially endorsed Andy Levin:

 

  • Rep. John Chirkun, District 22, D-Roseville

  • Rep. Jim Ellison, District 26, D-Royal Oak

  • Rep. Patrick Green, District 28, D-Warren

  • Rep. Kevin Hertel, District 18, D-St. Clair Shores

  • Rep. Jeremy Moss, District 35, D-Southfield

  • Rep. Bill Sowerby, District 31, D-Clinton Township

  • Rep. Robert Wittenberg, District 27, D-Huntington Woods

  • Rep. Henry Yanez, District 25, D-Sterling Heights

 

“All of these individuals have served their communities with distinction, and I’m grateful to have their support,” Levin said. “Our message of quality public education and health care for all, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and building an economy that benefits Michigan’s working families is quickly gaining steam throughout the district.”

 

Since announcing his campaign in December, Levin has also earned the support of many former and presently elected officials, including: Congressman Dan Kildee, Former Congressmen David Bonior and Mark Schauer, Former Governor Jennifer Granholm, retired Macomb County Clerk Carmella Sabaugh, Oakland County Water Resource Commissioner Jim Nash, Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith and Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, and many city, township, and school board officials.

 

Levin has also been endorsed by a dozen regional and national unions representing millions of American workers including the Communications Workers of America, International Association of Machinists, International Union of Operating Engineers, Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, National Nurses United, National Weather Service Employees Organization, Service Employees International Union, SMART, United Auto Workers, UNITE HERE, United Food & Commercial Workers Local 951, and Utility Workers Union of America.Last week, the campaign opened their campaign office in Sterling Heights, officially kicking off a strong, grassroots approach to connecting with voters in the district.
