Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith Endorses Democrat Andy Levin for Michigan’s 9th Congressional Di

Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith endorsed Andy Levin for U.S. Congress in Michigan’s 9th Congressional District, citing Levin’s years of leadership experience.

“The people of Michigan need someone with a proven track record of solving hard problems,” said Smith. “Not only is Andy an experienced and successful leader, he’s worked with folks of all backgrounds and I think that’s really important in today’s strained political climate.”

For many years, Levin helped thousands of workers organize unions and bargain collectively for a better life. He will continue these efforts for Macomb’s working families while serving in Congress. Levin understands that a strong economy is law enforcement’s greatest ally when it comes to public safety.

“Just like Eric, I am dedicated to protecting Michigan’s families and communities,” Levin said. “I’m eager to bring Democratic change to Washington and fight for good paying jobs, properly funded public schools and an economy that uplifts Michigan’s middle class families.”

Levin has been named a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate and has been endorsed by many federal, state and local officials and unions, including the Communications Workers of America, International Association of Machinists, Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, National Nurses United, National Weather Service Employees Organization, Service Employees International Union, UNITE HERE, United Food & Commercial Workers Local 951 and Utility Workers Union of America.
