Levin fundraising totals top $500,000 for the cycle

Andy Levin raised $385,743.93 in the first quarter of the year and nearly $510,000 since he kicked off his campaign to represent Michigan’s 9th Congressional District in December.

“We’re focused on getting our message out there and letting people know what Andy stands for,” said Campaign Manager Jordan Overstreet. “Andy has always been a strong, consistent advocate for workers, families and the environment. He has years of experience standing up for those who don’t have a voice, and he will bring that leadership to Congress.”

A total of 1,124 individual donors have contributed to Levin’s campaign. Sixty-three percent of contributions came from Michigan residents, and more than half of all donations were $100 or less. Levin has garnered contributions from virtually every city, township and village in the 9th District.

“I am humbled by the breadth of support our campaign has received so far,” Levin said. “I decided to run for Congress to help build a movement focused on creating good jobs, ensuring access to quality health care for every American, education and training, protecting our air and water, and restoring faith in our government. It’s encouraging to see that message resonate with 9th District voters.”

Levin has also been endorsed by nine national and local unions (recent additions include the Carpenters, Service Employees and UFCW Local 951), Congressman Dan Kildee, former Congressman David Bonior, Governor Jennifer Granholm, State Reps. Bill Sowerby and Henry Yanez and many county, city, township and school district officials.
