Communications Workers of America endorses Andy Levin for 9th Congressional
The Communications Workers of America on Thursday endorsed Andy Levin for Congress, saying they trust Levin to fight for working families.
"Andy has dedicated his career to making life better for working families, and we know he’ll take that same dedication to Congress,” said Linda Hinton, Vice President, Communications Workers of America District 4. “Andy will fight bad trade deals, he’ll fight for better wages and benefits, and he’ll fight for our right to organize.”
Levin is a lifelong progressive Democrat who has won battles for working families, both inside and outside of government. As a government leader, union organizer, human rights activist and clean energy entrepreneur, Andy’s accomplishments have improved the lives of Michiganders.
“I am honored to have CWA’s support as I fight to put what’s good for working families at the center of every policy decision,” Levin said of the endorsement. “I worked closely with CWA presidents Morty Bahr and Larry Cohen and their staff to protect workers’ freedom to form unions and bargain collectively when I served as Assistant Director of Organizing at the AFL-CIO. I have always admired the CWA’s commitment to grassroots action and economic justice for all.”
Levin has been named a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate and has also been endorsed by the International Association of Machinists, the Utility Workers Union of America, UNITE HERE, former U.S Rep. and gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer, former U.S. Rep. David Bonior, State Rep. Bill Sowerby, State Rep. Henry Yanez, retired Macomb County Clerk Carmella Sabaugh and Oakland County Water Resource Commissioner Jim Nash.
